Kathmandu Post: Japanese satellite station

KATHMANDU, OCT 03 -
The first Japanese satellite signal receiving station for South Asia region was inaugurated on the premises of International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in the Capital on Sunday. The satellite signal receiving station with high speed communication link will receive data from satellite systems in Japan, India, Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea to guide response efforts in emergency situations like floods and where the communication infrastructure is poor.
